IAAS Indonesia was formed in 1991 in Bogor Agricultural University. The following year, exactly at 35th IAAS International Congress at 1992 in Belgium, IAAS Indonesia is accepted as a full member in acclamation.
One of the reasons in forming IAAS is the description that we could develop a better world if we had strong intention to realize it. The idea can be realized by forming an International student organization that is accepted to be able to become a basin for transferring aspiration through various activities in the food accomplishment fields.
IAAS main target is facilitating the students enthusiasm in extending their knowledge about science and technology with high professionalism and building the friendship and cooperation with other students from various countries. Every student of agriculture and other related sciences such as forestry, fishery, animal husbandry, and etc could become a member of IAAS. Beside that, IAAS Indonesia also accept student that does not have agriculture background but they had strong intention to be active in local Agriculture Department and national participation of those International ones.
Since was formed, IAAS Indonesia has been done several activities both, for local, National and International Event. Some local and National activities which has been done for example Village Concept Project (VCP), IAAS Orientation Program (IOP), Working Camp (WoCa), Building On Success (BOS), IAAS Essay Contest (IEC), Round Table Discussion (RTD), Seminar & Workshop, National Congress, Student Exchange Program, National Scientific Paper Competition of Agriculture (NSPCA), IAAS Newsletter and etc. Meanwhile, International Activities are Asian Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM), International Seminar and World Congress in 1996 & 2002 in Bogor Agriculture University etc.
